There are two general pockets for women’s wear

  1. Patch pockets
  2. Inside pockets.

Patch pockets

Patch pockets appears on the outside of the garment. They are made from the fabric, can be lined or unlined, and may be attached by machine. They can be

  • Square
  • Rectangular
  • Pointed
  • Curved

It can be decorated with top stitching, lace or braid trims, or as tucks.

Inside pockets

Inside pockets are usually made from a lining or thick fabric, they are kept on the inside of the garment,and the opening to the pocket can be either invisible or decorative.
